‘Sankalp’
An initiative by the District Administration to accelerate the decline of child marriage and teenage pregnancy and substance abuse among the youth to promote overall wellbeing of young individuals. Translating to a ‘commitment’, the initiative aims to provide a holistic framework to address the identified issues by strengthening intersectoral coordination and fostering greater engagement with adolescents, community members, development partners, etc.
Vision
A district where every young person is empowered to exercise their rights and take informed decisions regarding their wellbeing, without being under the risk of child marriage and teenage pregnancy, with equal access to opportunities for education, health, skills and livelihood.
Goal
To accelerate the decline of child marriage and teenage pregnancy in the district by building agency of young individuals and fostering an enabling environment by implementation of targeted strategies.
